I am always amazed at the quality of the performances put on by our local high school students! Such talent! Our MWE students always enjoy our matinee show! Thanks to all the former MWE students in the play. We are proud of our former Eagles! Amazing job!

What a great start to a new school year! I am so excited that I am able to teach all of the wonderful fifth graders Language Arts this year at MWE! I have been so impressed with the ability of students to switch classes and keep up with our growing body of work! And won't it be great to be able to be in the new building in a few months so it can all be done indoors?

Our focus in LA class the past few weeks has been on setting routines and expectations for our classroom. We have learned about our Word Work assignments and testing procedures. *Students have expressed that they really enjoy being in charge of their practice at home. They simply have to have 50 points worth of activities completed by Friday! We have set up "library groups" within each block. *Each student knows when he/she needs to have books ready to return to the library. The first 20 minutes of class are a great time for reading and discovering new books in and out of the classroom. We have started taking our thinking about reading to a new, more focused level. *We ask ourselves, "what is important?" not just "what was interesting?"
